👑🐸💚 King of the Heart: the story behind our top-selling design
From vellum to vector: a peek into our design process
Hello friends,
I sit here with my coffee, taking in the final sips of Summer, watching the leaves from my maple tree begin to fall, contemplating change.
Do you ever look at something you’ve made and wish you could just do it over again?
Some of you may know that King of the Heart was actually the very first Kambô design I made back in 2021, when I was raising funds to attend my first Kambô training. The original was sketched out, hand-drawn on vellum, photographed, and digitized. It combined an anatomical heart with the Anahata heart chakra symbol and the flower of Huachuma (San Pedro cactus). I felt a certain sense of pride when I later wore this shirt to meet the frog himself in the Amazon Rainforest.

The original “King of the Heart” design was hand-drawn, then digitized, and involved symbols that might not make sense when we think about the cultures caretaking this Earth Medicine.
But something about it didn’t feel quite right. Kambô medicine originates from the Amazon jungle, not the highlands of Peru (in the case of Huachuma), nor India (the origin of Chakra systems). To truly honor the frog and the culture surrounding it, I needed a design that spoke more directly to this powerful Earth Medicine’s roots.
So I returned to the drawing table - er, tablet. I kept the anatomical heart and lungs because Kambô peptides are known to clear and open the physical and energetic heart and lungs, where we often hold deep emotions. I gave the frog a little crown for this image since some refer to Kambo as the “King of the Jungle.” (Did you also notice this same frog drawing makes an appearance in Kambo Maestro?) The result is a design that feels both playful and reverent, deeply rooted in the healing power of this medicine.

King of the Heart - Design by Cloudsong. Digital Media, 2025
Today, King of the Heart is our top-selling design. Some folks are drawn in because they love frogs, and others appreciate the anatomical features. Biologists, artists, nerds, medicine people, and nature-lovers alike are now wearing a piece of this visual prayer in their daily lives.
Screen printed in Denver with 6-color, water-based ink on our ultra soft, recycled triblend tee. Every limited edition print carries the story of how Kambô works to clear, strengthen, and open, while aligning us deeply to our breath and our heartbeat.

King of the Heart is available on recycled triblend short sleeve tees and tanks, unisex and femme.
I love this frog so much, and the people who caretake its medicine and ecosystem. Each purchase contributes to our impact campaign of supporting the life and legacy of a great wisdom keeper the world lost in 2024.
To read more about our impact campaign in Peru (and donate directly), check out our blog post here. So far, we’ve raised almost $4,000 of our $5,000 USD goal to support the infrastructure rebuild at Ecomunidad Nativa Kambo Family, Río Napo, Peru.
And may all beings who wear this image feel anchored in the wisdom of their hearts.
Feeling froggy,

Founder
